An important goal of the NCCR in Affective Sciences is to train the first generation of Affective Scientists. Therefore, a major effort is being devoted to the Education and Training program aimed at fostering scientific quality and creativity. The program also allows confirmed researchers who are already advanced in their own disciplines to benefit from these programs and acquire knowledge in complementary disciplines as well as competence in interdisciplinary research.
The graduate school and the postdoctoral program promote an interdisciplinary approach towards affective phenomena, ranging from the neural architecture of emotions to the historical underpinnings of their manifestations, without losing the disciplinary specialization required for a professional career.
