Knowledge and technology transfer is the process of developing practical applications derived from the results of scientific research. Our research offers potential applications of great interest to public and private partners.
Our aim is to promote and facilitate scientific collaborations between the NCCR and companies, research centres and other bodies:
We
- use a wide range of leading-edge methods and paradigms for scientific collaborations and consulting :
- Conceptual and comparative analyses (between cultures and historical periods)
- Behavioural analyses (timing, form, and type of decisions and actions)
- Analysis of verbal (oral and written), paraverbal (voice), and non-verbal communication (facial expressions and gesture)
- Physiological measurements (heart rate, respiration, perspiration, body temperature)
- Measurements of brain activity (magnetic resonance imaging and electro-encephalography)
- Organize thematic meetings and conferences as well as continuing education.
Main knowledge Transfer Activities
- Development and implementation of fundamental and applied research projects in collaboration with public and private partners (for instance : Firmenich, International Federation of Telephone Emergency Services (IFOTES), the Swiss Household Panel, Television Suisse Romande, Geneva Museum, Department of Public Health in Canton Fribourg)
- Organization of conferences, seminars, round-tables and workshops with outside partners (for instance : Swiss Houses in San Francisco, Singapore and Shanghai)
