The NCCR celebrates 12 years of interdisciplinary research on emotion!

The NCCR Affective Sciences celebrates its 12 years of fruitful research on emotion. 12 years of a Swiss-wide interdisciplinary team of researchers with a vast network of international collaborators. 12 years working to advance our understanding of emotions and their impact on human cognition, behavior and society. 12 years translating research into real-life applications in the arts, education, health, industry and technology. 12 years of success.
This occasion signals the official conclusion of the NCCR period, but the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences will continue to operate at the University of Geneva as a world leading institution in the study of emotion.

Come and celebrate with us! We have organized two events to meet the interests of all audiences.

On Thursday 18 and Friday 19 May 2017 the Center will host an international scientific conference featuring the project leaders of the NCCR and a select group of invited speakers. Together they will present and comment on the significance of the results of the research carried out at the NCCR in the past 12 years, and related scientific advances. Registration is mandatory.
On Saturday 20 May 2017, in the framework of Geneva’s Nuit des Musées, our Center opens its doors at the Campus Biotech for a public event for all audiences, including families. Through games, performances, workshops and demonstrations our researchers will showcase in an accessible and entertaining fashion the research conducted at the NCCR. Don’t miss this opportunity to see, for example, which emotions are felt in a virtual reality environment, how people communicate feelings with their faces, voices, and movements, and what emotions can be expressed with chocolate in a workshop with of one of Geneva’s most eminent chocolate masters.

We look forward to meeting you there!
Come and share your emotions with us!
